Lithuania is siuated on the eastern coast of the Baltic and is the southernmost of the Baltic states. With borders to Poland, Belarus, Latvia and Russia Lithuania covers around 65,000 sq km.
One third of the country is covered by forest which is home to many wild creatures including boar, wolves and elk.
After years of neglect under Soviet rule the country is now receieving some much needed investment to improve the environment.
