A Motorists' guide to driving in Bulgaria

Situated right in the heart of the Balkan Peninsula Bulgaria is bordered in the West by Serbia and the East by the Black Sea. To the north is Romania, and to the south is Turkey, Greece and Macedonia. Bulagaria has some striking scenery, perhaps the most famous of which is the Stara Planina (Balkan Mountain) range which stretches right across the centre of the country. There are also mountain ranges to the south west of the country, many of which are providing the new Bulgaria with a new lease of tourist activity from winter sports.
